"Sleep is individual, dynamic, and changes with age. Many people in Switzerland report sleep difficulties that affect their well-being and health. Through my commitment to the Sleep Network, I want to advocate for sleep to be given greater focus socially, economically, scientifically, and politically, and to work towards improving sleep health in Switzerland."
The Chairman represents the Sleep Network externally. He is a member of the
expert group and leads it.
"With the Sleep Network, Health Promotion Switzerland contributes to ensuring that the Swiss population sleeps better. We promote the exchange of experts on the health resource of sleep, so that the population has access to sleep-related offers, check-ups, and advice. According to the motto: Better sleep through exchange and networking."
"Sleep must be socially and politically recognized as an important pillar of health and the economy in Switzerland. People with sleep disorders must have easy access to scientifically sound information and therapies. As co-leaders of the network, we are ready to give sleep the importance it deserves and improve the situation for those affected."
“Breathing pauses during sleep are widespread, but not harmless. Short
breathing pauses at night ensure that sleep is not restful.
Those affected usually don't notice it themselves, but suffer from pronounced
fatigue. If left untreated, sleep apnea can increase the risk of cardiovascular
diseases and lead to accidents due to daytime sleepiness. The
Lungenliga supports people with sleep apnea.”
